Current Rescues:

Are All The Rescues In GRR’S Care On This Page?

No, they are not. This page contains only some of the rescue Goldies currently in care and looking for new homes. Some of our rescues require only a minimal amount of time with a foster carer before they are assessed and ready to go to an approved family, whereas other dogs may require extensive veterinary treatment or behavioural rehabilitation depending on the circumstances from which they have come. For these reasons GRR does not post every rescue Goldie on this page and, in fact, the vast majority of our Goldies are rehomed to applicants already on the approved list who have been waiting for the right Goldie to come along.

GRR's Commitment

At Golden Retriever Rescue we pride ourselves on not only finding the best homes for our Goldies but the home and family that suits the individual needs of each dog. Each Goldie that comes to GRR lives with a foster family while being assessed so that we can place the dog with the family that is the perfect match. For this reason GRR only accept enquiries regarding the dogs on the Current Rescues page if the enquiry is accompanied by a completed Questionnaire. The Questionnaire provides GRR with preliminary information that assists us in matching the rescues with the most suitable home. Please see the FAQs page for more information on how to apply and what is involved in being approved to adopt a GRR Goldie.

GRR's Assessment

Each dog listed has a story on how it came to GRR and an assessment from its foster family on the type of family that would best suit this particular dog. Living with their foster dog on a daily basis gives the foster families an insight into the personality, temperament, fitness level and their foster dog's ability to cope with other dogs, cats and small children, and arms GRR with the information to find the most suitable home for each individual Goldie.
