Golden Retriever Rescue

Fifteen month old Sammi has arrived into GRR’s care as his family want to give him a better home with the love and attention he deserves. Unfortunately living in a unit with two young children there is not the time or the space to give Sammi the type of home he deserves.

Sammi has received love and care and is in good health except for several extra kilos. This young golden boy comes with no behavioural issues and is your usual young, energetic Golden boy. Sammi’s foster family is doing a great job with this boy as his loose lead walking is improving and his recall is going well, except for the times when something more interesting takes his attention. This affectionate boy is house trained, well socialised with other dogs, has been known to do the odd bit of excavating and loves to ride in the car especially if he is being taken where he can go for a swim. Sammi has no problem with thunderstorms but is not always sure about the noisy outside world. Sammi’s family will need to patient in introducing this young boy to all the sights and sounds as he ventures out into the big wide world. Sammi arrived into care at a weight of 38kgs and he has already lost 4kgs but there is still more to lose so Sammi’s new family will need to be prepared to follow Sammi’s weight loss and exercise regime.

Given Sammi’s sweet and affectionate manner, his age and good looks and the fact that he loves to be up close and personal so that he can snuggle and chill out with you, GRR realises that applications will pour in to adopt him. However, as always, GRR chooses the home that is the perfect fit for each Goldie that comes into care and to assist with finding Sammi the home that will provide everything he requires please only apply if you fit ALL of the following requirements.

Sammi requires a home where:
1. A person at the home to keep him company most of the time
2. His owner has the time and commitment to continue Sammi’s training
3. A medium or large dog/s approximately 3 to 6 years old that would enjoy playing with Sammi and teach him some manners
4. People who will continue with Sammi’s diet and exercise regime
5. Any resident children are at least ten years old.

If you would like to open your heart and home to Sammi and meet the five criteria listed here please complete the Questionnaire on either the Contact page or the Current Rescues page. In an effort to find the best fit for Sammi, only applicants who meet the criteria listed on this poster as well as GRR’s usual rehoming criteria will be considered for adoption. Applicants who do not meet ALL the listed criteria will not receive a reply.
