Golden Retriever Rescue

Four year old Greta has come into the care of GRR as a recent downsizing of property and health issues within her family has meant that this energetic and bouncy big girl is looking for a new family to love.

Greta has always been loved and cared for in her previous home and is looking for a family who will continue to share her life and offer her the exercise and outdoor activities that this girl loves. While Greta has been raised with children it is noted that Greta is a large sized girl so children over the age of ten would be best suited. This girl is a people dog so a home where someone is around much of the time so that Greta can be near will make this girl very happy. Greta has previously been the only dog in the home but in her foster home she is currently sharing with a young female Goldie and they enjoy chasing each other and wrestling together.

Greta is house trained, pulls on lead at the start of the walk, has a good recall, is well socialised with other dogs but definitely not cats, loves to ride in the car especially if it means a trip to the beach or bay as this girl loves to swim. She isn’t a digger but Greta enjoys a good barking session at the local wildlife and in her current foster home she delights in barking at the horses next door so a home in the suburbs and not a rural area will suit this girl. Greta does not enjoy thunder and lightning but she is not destructive and likes to be inside with you.

Greta is a dog who needs a lot of exercise so an owner with the time to take Greta for long walks and swims would suit her best. Greta would suit a home with another playful young dog or a home where she is the only dog as long as there is someone around the home much of the time as Greta loves company.

Greta comes microchipped, desexed, vaccinated, heartworm tested & treated for heart worm, intestinal worms and fleas. Greta requires a home where: • Someone is around much of the time if she is an only dog
• There is another young, large dog for company if the family is away from the home for a few hours a day
• The home is in the suburbs with high, secure fencing and gates
• There are people who are prepared to provide the exercise Greta requires
• Any resident children are at least ten years old.
